Petra Kolmančič

1974, Slovenia

Petra Kolmančič is a poet, editor and producer. She graduated in philosophy and sociology of culture at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She has published her poems in various literary magazines in Slovenia and abroad. Her work has been translated into German, English, Hungarian, Croatian and Bosnian. In 2014 she won Veronika Poetry Prize for the best poetry collection in Slovene of the year.
Her books of poetry include Luknja (1994), Šus v glavo (1996), Slina (1998), Uvod v poželenje (2004) and P(l)ast za p(l)astjo (2014).
To create new poetic forms and experiences she often combines her poetry with music, videos, images, sound, movement, animations and computer arts.

Metastaze

Najprej se božata,
da bi izvabila drug od drugega,
kaj bi, kaj sta, kaj bi rada.
Potem se stiskata, ponikata drug v drugega, se razgaljata.
Potem se tolčeta,
da bi izvedela še kaj več od tega, kar si, kar je, kar sta.

Potem zarežeš najprej ti in povrhnjica se razpre;
vidiš, da je pod kožo mnogokraten
in da se lahko tudi vsa njegova okostja
poljubno sestavljajo v nove kombinacije.

Potem zareže on,
zacveti rdeče meso, priteče kvašena kri.
Nežno na otip poboža razjede, bule, zasevke
in ostale simptome
zadnjega
stadija
bližine.


Hip hip

Neki moški, z njim prisotnost nečesa, kar se stopnjuje.
Neka ženska, nora od ljubezni in od svoje sreče.
Nad vama pa nebo, spremenljivo, a zanesljivo.

Njegovi dotiki božajo, njegove besede predejo.
Njegovo telo, vlažno in toplo, ah, da bi reči ostale
takšne kot so, vsaj v tej pesmi.
 
Ulezi se, reče, ker je moški.
Zadrži me, rečeš, ker si ženska.

Našla sta se, a iščeta še, da bi se našla še bolj.
On išče s sluhom, neizgovorljivo.
Ti iščeš s prsti, neoprijemljivo.
On išče s telesom, večno v minljivem.

In najde.
In najdeš.
A nikdar tistega, kar iščeš.

Zato tipaš, potrpežljivo,
v širino, v globino, v višino –
globoko vanj,
ki skriva zametke nedoumljivega v kokonu iz sanj.

Neke slutnje prihajajo k tebi, občasno.
Tista prisotnost ti je danes pogledala v oči.
Nejasno veš, da je le hip, ko Je,
in potlej dolga večnost, ko Ni.


Krtica

Oblekla si nov spomladanski plašč,
rdeče in rumene aplikacije
zmedejo čebele in metulje,
da se pridejo past na pisane vezenine.

Plašč je prostran travnik;
črna krtica – animalna
                      anomalija
                      tvoje anime –
v podzemlju pod njim koplje blodnjake.

Prija ji rahla in vlažna prst spodnjih pokrajin,
slepi tihi htonski svet.
Tuje ji je, kar je zunaj, zgoraj.
Tema tu spodaj ve vse o svetlobi.
Mir tu spodaj ve vse o nemiru.

Krtica spi, in ko te sanja,
veš,
da se je že vse zgodilo.
Krtica spi, in ko te sanja,
veš,
da se kljub temu mora vse še enkrat zgoditi.

The 13th Golden Boat Poetry Translation Workshop 2015

The 13th Golden Boat International Poetry Translation Workshop

The 13th Golden Boat International Poetry Translation Workshop will be held from 23rd to 30th August 2015 at Škocjan in the Karst and Ljubljana.
This year's workshop will be attended by Petra Kolmančič, Goran Č. Potočnik, Urška P. Černe, Nino Flisar, Tatjana Jamnik, Muanis Sinanović as well as two translators of the youngest generation, Anja Sredić and Špela Kopitar.
We will also be joined by our guests from abroad: Anupama Amaran (USA, Tamil Nadu), Ivo Landžev (Bulgaria), Goro Takano (Japan), Ana Brnardić (Croatia), Agnieszka Żuchowska-Arendt (Poland), Jacek Lenkiewicz (Poland) and Kari Klemelä (Finland).
As usual, the workshop will be led by Iztok Osojnik.
Participants of the Golden Boat shall present their work at two literary readings: on Thursday, 27th August, at 20:00 in front of the Church of St. Cantianius in Škocjan and on Friday, 30th August, at 11:00 in Trubar's House of Literature in Ljubljana and also on the website www.ia-zlaticoln.org.

The workshop is supported by Slovenian Book Agency, Tourist Association Škocjan, Škocjan Caves Park, Pólica Dubova Cultural and Artistic Association, KD Vilenica Art Society, Krka d.d. and Apokalipsa Cultural and Artistic Association.
